We are not ones to be politically active, but this year there is a proposition that is on the ballot that our family is very passionate about. It's PROP 8. some of you are probably thinking what????? Please do your research and please vote on November 4th. To give you some info PROP 8 will state in the California State Constitution that marriage is only recognized between a man and a woman. Some of you might remember PROP 22 (marriage defined only between a man and a woman) back in 2000. It passed but 4 judges overturned the decision that 61% of Californians voted in favor for. We are disgusted at the judicial system. Some might be saying why vote now. It doesn't matter, but it does.... we don't want our children being taught that marriage can be between anyone. It goes against our moral beliefs. If PROP 8 does not pass there will tons of ripple effects. That will be another post... Please check out www.protectmarriage.com

We have friends that are gay and we are by no means judging them, but we don't need or want their lifestyle shoved down our throat's or children's throat....... it is not a civil rights issue......

A group of San Francisco first-graders took an unusual field trip to City Hall on Friday to
toss rose petals on their just-married lesbian teacher - putting the public school children at
the center of a fierce election battle over the fate of same-sex marriage.
The 18 Creative Arts Charter School students took a Muni bus and walked a block at noon
to toss rose petals and blow bubbles on their just-married teacher Erin Carder and her wife
Kerri McCoy, giggling and squealing as they mobbed their teacher with hugs.

After traditional photos, the two walked out City Hall's main doors where the students were

The two said they have participated in the campaign against Proposition 8 and planned to
travel around San Francisco on Friday afternoon in a motorized trolley car with "Just
Married" and "Vote No on 8" banners.

Creative Arts administrators and parents acknowledged that the field trip might be
controversial, but they didn't see the big deal. Same-sex marriage is legal, they noted.

is a day they'll definitely remember."

Carder's students said they were happy to see their new teacher married.
"She's a really nice teacher. She's the best," said 6-year-old Chava Novogrodsky-Godt,
wearing a "No on 8" button on her shirt. "I want her to have a good wedding."

When I first read this on the website I yelled out loud NO FREAKIN WAY! If Prop 8 doesnt pass it is going to be a sad day. Home schooling will be seriously considered or private school.
